I have seen amazing things happen with my child during his time with Carmella and I am incredibly grateful to have her guiding me down this uncertain road of raising a special needs child.
Carmella & Katharine always had a structured approach to specific topics the children needed to cover, they provided excellent in-class examples of social situations and role-playing, and most importantly, we were kept well informed with written and verbal summaries. They are impressive, not just in their professionalism and dedication, but also in the degree to which they truly care about the kids. We’re grateful to them for their help and are happy to recommend them.
In one short year, Katharine single-handedly taught our son skills that triggered an enormous growth in his cognitive and motor abilities, as well as his self esteem. In the same short year, she taught us how to encourage and work with him. Most important, she gave all of us an enormous infusion of hope –- quite realistic hope – for our son’s future.
I have worked with Katharine in my capacity as a Psychologist and CPSE Chairperson and have been impressed by her professionalism, knowledge and genuine concern for the children she has worked with. She has an excellent understanding of the educational and social needs of children, and the ability to express her ideas cogently and literally.
Katharine has a passion for working with young children and demonstrates a genuine commitment to the field of special education. She is incredibly supportive of all children, encouraging them to take risks, while offering an environment of safety, caring and unlimited possibilities. She has been highly recommended by parents of her former students and we are fortunate to have her as a part of our preschool community
Confident Kid Club exceeded our expectations. Our 7 year old was hesitant to join the group, but at the end of the first session, he couldn’t wait to go back again. Learning how to interact with his peers in a safe setting transferred to “real life” situations outside the group. School personnel noticed a positive change in his social skills, which lead to more social interactions for him at recess and lunch. He even established some new friendships at school.
I have been in the field of Early Childhood education for over 20 years both as a teacher and a director and I have never worked with a more professional, capable SEIT. Her caring and loving nature coupled with her complete dedication to the children in her charge is remarkable.
The leaders of Confident Kid Club were excellent at communicating with the parents as to what was taking place in the group and giving suggestions for your child to work on outside of the group. Our child has asked to sign up for another session. I highly recommend this group if your child can benefit from improving his or her social skills.
I ran an an early childhood conference where Katharine and Carmella presented a workshop on “Incorporating Social Skills Into the Early Childhood Classroom”. They were professional, a pleasure to work with and received rave reviews from teachers who took part in their workshop. Their presentation was lively, practical, with hands-on ideas teachers could take back and incorporate into their curriculum. I would recommend them highly excellent, useful and engaging presentation.
Carmella Crowley is capable of moving mountains. You think there’s no hope and then there is an abundance of it. She is that perfect combination of professionalism, warmth, out-of-the-box thinking that supports children, parents and school staff. She never gives up on a child, always coming up with new ideas to reach a special needs child. She motivates school staff to implement educational plans and she leads the therapy team with gentle guidance and a ‘can do’ attitude.
