Confident Kid Club offers a range of social skills programs designed to help children develop the skill set necessary to interact and communicate with others in everyday situations. For some children, social emotional learning such as knowing what to say, how to make good choices, and how to behave in diverse situations does not come naturally. The programs help children control impulsive behaviors, build self-esteem, and learn to recognize and regulate their emotions. A unique social skills curriculum is developed based on the specific strengths and challenges of each child. Confident Kid Club incorporates elements of Stanley Greenspan’s Floortime approach,Social Thinking /Michelle Garcia Winner, Carol Gray’s Social Stories, and Michelle Dunn’s S.O.S. (Social Skills in Our Schools Program). Continual observation, assessment and collaboration with parents, teachers, and therapists results in modifications and the planning of social skills activities based on the dynamics of each group.
